This morning folks, a Maryland State Trooper was killed....

While you were sleeping last night, Maryland lost one of their finest.

The sad reality of being a dual-career police officer & Realtor, is the table of dealing with issues in both professions.  As I prepare to do follow-ups this morning on listings, I also once again prepare my Class A uniform for Trooper Brown's funeral in the week to come.

Trooper Brown was moonlighting as a security guard at a local Apple Bee's restaurant, and got into an altercation with a patron over a bill!  News outlets on TV are reporting that Trooper Brown was on his phone, when the suspect came back and without warning shot and killed him.  Trooper Brown did not have a chance to draw his gun out.  He was 24 years old, was a Trooper for 3 1/2 years, and was recently engaged to be married.

As you go about your day today, please remember Trooper Brown and his family as they are about to embark in the hardest time of their life.

The news story.

Regards,

Stan Barsch

We should all pause a moment today. There is a thin blue line between civility and anarchy. Peace officers deserve our respect and gratitude.

I was so sad when I woke up to this news.  I can only imagine the pain his family and young fiancee must be feeling.  I only hope they know that so many of us are grateful for his service to the community and his sacrifice.
