Another of the twelve Cowboy Boot Sculptures helping to celebrate the 150th Birthday of Olathe Kansas.

The "Early Snow" boot sculpture is sponsored by the First National Bank of Olathe and is one of the twelve six foot sculptures helping to celebrate Olathe's 150th Birthday.

Early SnowThe sculpture was designed by Linda Wisely of Rantoul, Kansas and recalls the scenery of the rural area near Olathe, Kansas.  On the boot is a cowboy, a barn scene and a buffalo in the winter snow.  The vivid aqua, violet and ochre colors give a resemblance to the winter snow reflections from the Kansas skies.  This is one of the most colorful boots on display.

The sponsor of this boot is First National Bank of Olathe, (which just happens to be financial institution I call my bank), and one that has a rich heritage in Johnson County

First National Bank of Olathe was established in 1887 and is the first nationally chartered bank in Johnson County. FNBO's success has been achieved through a commitment to quality relationships and innovative leaders. The bank has had only 11 CEO's in 120 years.

I recently had an experience I felt was not appropriate and decided to call the bank president about it.  After all, if they are going to print their core values as determined by the customer, then why not find out if it is true.  They simply ask, "What we are doing right?"  Okay, you say that it is important to your success to create and grow lasting relationships with our customers.  What better time to prove it, then when a customer feels they have not been valued?

Well, to my surprise, the bank president returned my call and did everything he said he would do.  I was impressed!  So, I stayed with them.  How could you go wrong with these three beliefs.

  • Integrity first.
  • The golden rule is the only rule.
  • Be a possibility thinker

They do endeavor to achieve their vision: To grow a great, independent community bank, one relationship at a time.

Hi David, a very nice post mixing the 150th with the old core values that made the old west and Olathe great.  I am a part time treasure hunter of old coins and anywhere that has a history like your has old coins ready to be found!  My golden rule of treasure hunting....finders keepers!  I think the banks rule is better it is the only rule.  Nice post.
