There are many opinions when it comes to using videos in Real Estate. After reading some posts and comments such as How is video helping you?by William James Walton, Sr. I decided to add my two cents for what it is worth. There are many posts about videos some positive, some not, and some outright discouraging use of them.

Some say you have to invest a lot of money in equipment.
Some say they aren't videos but rather slide shows or movies.
Some say they aren't worth the time or effort.

I say you can do a good job with the equipment you have.
Call them what you like. I bet there are some great videos, slide shows, or movies and I want to see them.
They are worth the time if you like making them. I watch them often and sometimes after a long day I would prefer to watch a video then read.

So I'll start with one of mine and wait for your additions. They don't have to be just about real estate.

I'm not trying to convince you to create videos in fact I'm secretly hoping you don't.  Kidding, but seriously there are a lot of them.

Good post!    It's really essential to be "everywhere" these days...that's what consumer choice means, I think: being where a consumer will find one, and be attracted to one's business offerings.    Different choices for different people's way of consuming info.

That was a beautiful video!  I just got my video camera, so I'm still in the learning stage; but I'm excited about being able to make them.

Hi Li, Thank you. I believe we have to keep trying and keep learning. Things are changing so quickly if you don't change as quickly I think you will be lost in the search.

Bob, Thank you so much.  I had self doubt when reading critical posts about how you have to be a professional video producer and invest big dollars in equipment.  I so enjoy creating them and you have just given me the confidence to continue.  After all we are real estate professionals not professional photographers, writers, etc.  Sometimes I feel like the butcher, baker, and candle stick maker.  You will have a blast creating videos.

Tammy my friend.  Nice to see you.  Thanks for enjoying the video.  I do have a YouTube channel.  Let me start by saying "Picasa" by google.  I will send you an notification when I do the series.  Some of my first videos will be great for a tutorial because the more you do the better you get.  This video I was practicing with video and still photos.

Thank you all for your comments and encouragement.  I was hoping to get some links to some videos.  Well maybe in time.  Stay safe and happy.

Hi Lisa, as a video guy, and a Rhode Islanda' I really appreciated your video.  You really did a nice job.

As a professional videographer, I can confirm that you do not need a professional videographer or high-end equipment.  The reality is that you are doing a real estate tour, not a remake of 'Titanic'. That being said, you do want to use a decent camera and a good tripos when possible.  Most people can't hold a camer still, and the large number of nausea-inducing tours will prove that :)

The true usefulness of hiring a pro is the 'time is money' concern.  Yes for most people, the pro is going to do a better job, but more importantly, they will do it quicker, and you can be out selling homes instead of trying to figure out how to edit.

Hey Lisa, thanks for the post, I am working on building my video presence to go along with my internet presence, and video has some great advantages. I agree if you get the right tools you can make great looking videos with little time or money.

Here is a link to video I just made from google and they do most of the work you just put in your links http://activerain.com/blogsview/1693083/team-quintana-dominates-the-internet-spokane-real-estate

By the Way, thank you for commenting on my blog!

Along with making a nice video, I think making the video also gave you a great reason to spend part of your work day either at the beach or out cruising on a boat:) Not a bad job perk.

Audio is 40% of the video and your own words, conversationally at the property giving the tour is huge with all the sounds of the property. This makes the buyer feel he or she is at the property. They are if you do it right. Sound track for filler is wasting the experience, your brand, the connection with you the broker for the property. Or tour guide for the community video series.
