I happened to run across my husband's photos from our trip to Yellowstone National Park in September 2008.

The picture above is of Mount McCowan with the Yellowstone River near Brisbin, Montana.

Yellowstone #2

Another picture of the Yellowstone River.

Yellowstone #3

I think this photo has great compostion.

Yellowstone #4

Beautiful river scene.

yellowstone sign

Picture of one of the great signs they have for the National Park Service.

thermal feature

This thermal feature has some walkways behind it.

thermal feature #2

Most thermal features have these great walkways to protect from soil erosion and also protect the human visitors from slipping, getting burned from scalding hot water, etc.  Several times when I was at a thermal feature, there were bison/buffalos in the vacinity drinking or keeping warm (it was cold enough to snow).

Liz, my family visited Yellowstone in 2005.  I think it's one of the most beautiful spots in the world.  Thanks for the fond memories.

Have not been there in almost thirty years. I have wonderful memories when I was 17 going across country.

We went in June, which we thought would be late enough so that all the snow had melted. Nope. Still lots of snow on the ground, making the thermal features very comforting.

You got some great pictures. I have some souvenir booklets, but all my digital pictures of Yellowstone were destroyed in the Great Hard Drive Crash of August 2005.
