If you read my previous post you were probably wondering what the title had to do with the content of the post? After scratching your head you probably thought..."She had a bad day and needed to rant".
Actually I have had a wonderful weekend and a great summer. Here is why I love Chicagoland in the summer:
Festivals:
This weekend the following festivals are going on:
Blues Fest - One of the largest Blues' fest in the world! Free!! With over 640,000 attendees in the past this year's fest will increase the attendance despite the overcast weather. In fact, I am sure someone will probably do a song about it. Come out and enjoy some down home blues!
Need to eat a little something - Head out to the Chicago Ribfest at Irving Park/Damen/Lincoln. Enjoy music and of course, ribs! If you miss this remember Naperville will have its annual Naperville Ribfest July 1-4.
For local neighborhood fest - head out to Andersonville for their 45th Midsommarfest - Little Nashville is playing at 4:00 p.m.
Planning already for next week - Check out Taste of Randolph Street from June 18 to 20th. Music, and more food from Randolph St. restaurants like: Alhambra Palace, De Cero, La Luce, La Sardine, Marcello's, Market, Nicholas Quality Meat, One SixbyBlue, Pasha, Tomato Head Pizza, Veerasway, Vivo, West End and Wishbone.
Lombard is having its 19th Annual Summer Kick off and Fishing Derby today! Face painters, free cookout and a prize ceremony at the Elizabeth & Greenfield St at Terrace View Park in Lombard.
Bolingbrook is having the Art Walk at the Promenade today for those that enjoy a more cultural event.
Speaking of culture - Don't miss out on Printer's Row Lit Festival going on at Dearborn between Polk and Congress or perhaps the Wells St. Art Fesitval is more to your liking.
