By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker

Hi All,

I am training some new real estate agents so I naturally came to Active Rain to see what ideas I could come up with to keep the training fresh. I came across a Great blog by
Lisa Udy.

It got me thinking, who better than Active Rainers to find out the BEST tips that you have come across in Real Estate, things you do regularly from the basics to ideas that are really new and fresh.

I would love for everyone to leave a comment on what they do that has helped them get started or stay in the Real Estate field.  I will review all of the tips and compile the best  into a training blog for new agents and a jump start for experienced agents.

All the best!

I'm not a realtor, so I can't give you realtor specific advice.  But, I used to work at Procter & Gamble and what I always did the first day (or 1st week) with new hires was to do a field trip to show them our product in its natural enviroment.  So, we would go to 5-6 stores (different types - supermarket, mass, convenience store, warehouse club, etc) to see our product on the shelf and to look at competition. After all, that's how the customer sees it, so we should learn from that.  It was helpful both ways - both for me to point things out and for a newbie w/ fresh perspective to pick up on things I've become accustomed to.

Thanks Debbie,

That's a great idea to take new agents out to Town Hall, to preview some listings, condos co-ops and houses.
