Ways to Improve Marketability of Home

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

When selling your home, here are some simple ways to improve the marketability of your home:

•  Improve your curb appeal. This is achieved by having yard mow and trim, brushes and trees trimmed, flower beds have been weeded, and a recently painted home.

•  Prune all trees in the front and backyard.

•  Repair screens and windows.

•  Be sure to have clean windows.

•  Check and clean you're A/C and heating systems

•  Insure there are no leaky faucets or toilets.

•  Make sure all lights are working and have working light bulbs.

•  Carpets and drapes need to be clean.

•  Repair cracks in walls and re-caulk kitchen and bathrooms.

•  Clean out closets.

•  Remove clutter and excessive furniture.

•  Avoid having pets on premise when showing property.

•  Make sure all doors and windows lock; in addition, insure doors and windows work smoothly.

•  Clean out garage and storage areas.

•  Have clean lawn furniture.

•  Breakfast bar or table, or formal dining area needs to have place settings in place.

•  Have signs within home advertising the strong features of the property.

•  Be sure the pool is crystal clear.

You have some really good point - closets and lawn furniture have been big issues for me in the past!
