We went to linner this afternoon. It was a little late for lunch and a little early for Dinner. We went to the Home of the Big "H" Hires / Litza's Pizza in Taylorsville. As we approached the restaurant we saw this Great old patrol car.

patrol car

As we went around back to park we see this sign

car show sign

When we finished linner we saw some more great old cars

Do you Recognize any of them?

I remember seeing many of these when I was a little boy.

This group meets on a regular basis to show off their hard work and skills. The paint  jobs on the cars are incredible. I mentioned at the top of this post I remember seeing many of the cars when I was a little boy. I'm pretty sure that paint has become much more sophisticated over the years. My daughter was really interested in the cars. I kind of wanted to stick around and learn more about them. What make, model, and year the cars were but my son was ready to go home. Can't blame him he is going in for foot surgery tomorrow.

For more information on the car show and the great food at Hires / Litza's see:

NICE! T Buckets, Fastbacks and 34's toss in a greasy burger and a cherry coke. Sounds like it was a good day.

Diane, I just drove back over to Hires to retrieve my wife's cell phone that accidentally was left there. There were even more cars but it was a little too dark to take pictures. I was told that they hold this show every 3rd Tuesday. Sounds like we may need to do this again.

Randy, Sounds like you know way more than I do what they all are. Thanks for your comment.

Randy, This is interesting you are the second Randy to comment on my post or third if you count me. Thanks for your comment, Would you believe I didn't have my camera with me so I actually took these with my Blackberry Storm. I was shocked how well they turned out.

I use my Blackberry 9630 World phone EVERYDAY for pictures. It ROCKS! Only thing missing from the pictures you pisted is bikes. I ride Harley's, and where you see a car show a few HD end up in the mix.

Hi Randy, Good Photos Cell phone cameras are getting nearly as good as the point and shoot cameras aren't they.

The Classic Car Shows have always been a real favorite. I really appreciate the work and man hours these cars have had in getting their original condition rstored.

Toni & Darcy, The burgers are great there but I go there even more for Litza's Pizza. It is the best. Hires actually has three locations. This is the only one that has Pizza & Burgers in the same building. Hires Root Beer is awesome and so re the Root Beer Freezes.

Randy, Not a single bike in the mix, go figure. We have some pretty big Harley clubs around here as well. I think it is time you posted some hog pictures for us to see.

Melanie, Its true, I took them with my phone, Who'd of guessed. I was pleasantly surprised when I uploaded them to my computer.

William, It is incredible how much time and money these folks spend to do this. I don't thnk I have the patience for it personally. I did restore an old 3 speed bike when I was a kid.

Randy,

Ahhh, the memories!  Love them old antique cars.  Those engines were so nice and simple.  My first was a '64 Chevy Impala convertable.  Not too long ago I sold my '83 crew cab Chevy dually with a 405 engine.  Loved it.  I really miss it though.

Thanks for the great photos!

Brigita, Thanks for your comment. Sounds like you remember a lot of these cars. Was your 64 impala new when you bought it? Your picture doen't look like that is possible. So are you still driving a truck?

Randy,

I bought it used and it cost me $100.  I do not have my truck anymore.  I downsized to a Chevy Tahoe.  Miss my truck though.  It was great for hauling my horses around.  Never skipped a beat, even hauling up hill (mountains).  :-)
