Mr. & Mrs. Realtor, I Respect You

Now that I have been a Realtor for over 23 years, I believe I can be a good judge of Realtors as I have seen so many come and go.  As a client, this is what I would honestly say if I was honest and sensible.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Realtor, I respect you because you are the heart and sole of keeping the economy stimulated.
  • Mr. & Mrs. Realtor, I respect you because you go the extra mile to make sure that everything goes smoothly and take as much unneeded pressure off of me as your client.
  • Mr. & Mrs. Realtor, I respect you because you work more hours in a week than I have seen in most all industries. You are typically available for me 24/7 and if not, you have someone to back you up to service me. When I leave a message, you return my calls promptly and if you do not know the answer, you find it out in the most expeditious manner possible.
  • Mr. & Mrs. Realtor, I respect you because if it were not for you, my family would not have a comfortable roof over their head to call home.  You were honest and trustworthy and we could count on you every step of the way to be there for us.
  • Mr. & Mrs. Realtor, I respect you because you always kept us informed, every step of the way, and we felt like it was a great marriage throughout the entire process.
  • Mr. & Mrs. Realtor, I respect you because if it wasn't for you, I could have overpriced my home and paid too much for the one I wanted to purchase.  You helped me justify my decision on the monetary value of them.
  • Mr. & Mrs. Realtor, I respect you because I was able to trust you with the biggest investment of my life.
  • Mr. & Mrs. Realtor, I respect you enough where I would refer you to my family, friends and neighbors in a heart beat.

This list could go on and on, but I would love to see us all be able to look in the mirror and feel like these comments are given to us from everyone we work with.  This will give you the motivation and desire to continue on no matter how bad or good things can be.  Some how, some way, we always get through the never ending roller coaster ride to success.

I must say, we Realtors are often the hand-holders through an emotional time (sometimes moving is a positive thing and sometimes folks are very sad about leaving a home they've been in for a long time). The best of the best get invested enough with clients to really help them through the ups and downs of a transaction as well as providing the professional support: care, loyalty, etc. that one would expect. It is a big job- but it is a good one!
