I had the good fortune to grow up at 9th and Sherman, back in the day when cruising Sherman was an art form!  If I wasn't cruisin', I was sitting on the big front porch of my turn of the century stately Victorian house with bunches of friends, waving at the cruisers who honked as they passed.  The yellow car in the photo below was taken from my porch vantage point of yesteryear at last year's Car d'Lane!

Car d'LanePopular Car d'Lane, a two day cruise and car show, celebrates its 20th anniversary this weekend, beginning tonight with a Cruise on Sherman Avenue of pre-1972 cars.  Tomorrow is Show & Shine from 8 to 4 on Sherman and Lakeside Avenues.

If two days of old time cruisin' and car shows isn't enough fun, don't miss the Saturday night free concert and street dance featuring Meet Revolver, from 7-10 p.m. at 6th and Sherman.  Meet Revolver is a Beatles Car d'Lanetribute band, and you will think you are seeing John, Paul, George and Ringo live and in person! 

Not just for car buffs, Car d'Lane, started in 1990, has turned into one of the Pacific Northwest's premier annual car shows.  It is one of the largest shows with the broadest variety of vehicles in the Pacific Northwest. 

A Collector Car auction is also taking place Saturday at the Coeur d'Alene Resort.  New this year is a Coeur d'Elegance Woody Invitational "Saturday Private Treaty Sale."  Silver Auctions will be auctioning off about 80 collector cars Saturday beginning at 8:00 a.m.  You can inspect those cars at Independence Point, adjacent to the city beach and park. 

And here's an amazing bit of trivia, I met my husband cruising Sherman, and we just celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary!

I love it, Car D'Lane!  My father-in-law used to gather up the grandkids and head to some of these shows.  He would even enter parades and put kids in the back of some old cars so they could throw candy.  Hope the weather is good for this show!

Janna - I would absolutely love to have that yellow car with the matching little trailer.  Can you imagine going on a cross country road trip with that thing.  I can also imagine the price of that vehicle in today's world would be prohibitive to what I could afford. . .It's gorgeous none the less!
