Being a Realtor is something I take great pride in.  I take my fiduciary responsibility to my clients very seriously and I do not take their trust for granted.  I have been in the business of helping folks buy and sell homes for 25 years.  But, I am more than a Realtor.  I am a mom, a sister, an aunt, a wife, a friend, a daughter, a Meals on Wheels delivery person and Co-Chairperson of a local chapter of Meals on Wheels.  I have raised funds for breast cancer research, volunteered at my kid's schools, served on the board of the Chester County Women's Commission and on my son's pre-school board many years ago.  Yes, I am a full time Realtor and an even fuller time person!

My good friend Amanda Hall, down in Texas, is arranging to fill a U-haul truck with donated items to help the folks in Oklahoma City who have been affected by the flood.  She's doing this via social media and the outpouring of donations has been staggering.  You might think that Amanda Hall is just a Realtor.  I know for a fact, though, that she's a mom, a sister, a wife and the Broker/Owner of Hall Team Homes, in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.  This isn't the first time Amanda donated her time and talents to help out a city in need, she did something similar when Katrina hit New Orleans.

Andrew Lenza , in New Jersey, and his wife Liz helped co-found "Our Special Place ("O.S.P")", which is a registered non-profit charitable organization who's mission is to enrich the lives of children with special needs by providing a variety of professional services in a nurturing and therapeutic environment.  Andrew is a friend, a husband, a father, an uncle, and many other things besides being a fine Realtor.  He manages to do a bang-up job for his clients all the while also raising funds and running events for Our Special Place.

Lisa Heindel, in New Orleans, is part of a Mardi Gras krew.  They are a non-profit that holds fundraisers through the year and donate the proceeds to local charities.  They've done a golf tournament for Cerebral Palsy, made donations to replace band instruments after Hurricane Katrina, and are currently trying to collect supplies for the volunteers that are rescuing and recovering the oiled wildlife due to the spill in the Gulf.  The folks in New Orleans might know Lisa as a Realtor, but she is also a mom, a wife, a gardener, and a tireless champion for her hometown.

Russell Lewis, in Austin Texas is very active in his community.  Not only is he involved in Mobile Loaves and Fishes, a truck that delivers food to low income folks, he has also been the man in the Healthy Bear costume at local elementary schools for going on 16 years.  In addition to being a Realtor, a dad, a husband and more, he is also very involved in Habitat for Humanity!

Melina Tomson, a Realtor in Salem, Oregon is a Broker/Owner, a dedicated mom who uses her passion for children to help out in her community.  In a past life, Melina worked as a child and family therapist , she's a lover of books, nature photography and genealogy.

She and Elaine Hanson, a Realtor in Topanga, California liken themselves to serial volunteers!  Elaine is a wonderful friend, mom, but also volunteers at local schools and is an active member of the Historical Society and Director of the Chamber of Commerce.  Whenever there's a cause that moves them, they volunteer to help.

Paul Slaybaugh is a Realtor in Scottsdale Arizona.  Paul is a native of Scottsdale, a second generation Realtor and an expert in all things Scottsdale.  His clients know him as a great agent, but Paul is also a gifted writer and a family man.

These are just a few examples of friends across the country who not only do their best every day to help their clients with their real estate needs, but they also do their best to make the world a better place.

When looking for a Realtor look at the whole picture.  We are a sum of all of our roles.  If you are transferring out of state, contact me and I'll put you in touch with not only a good real estate agent, an expert in his or her field, but also a genuine and caring person.
