Active Rain - Please Come to Boston!

Paul RevereEvery day I read about the fabulous times that people are having at RainCamp and I must say that I am extremely jealous.

When will RainCamp be coming to Massachusetts - or, as we like to call it, the Commonwealth?

There is so much to see here.  Your visit here would be entertaining, gratifying and much appreiciated at the same time.

Boston

Boston is one of the oldest cities in the United States and is loaded with charm and history.  We have, for your enjoyment:

  • The Prudential Center with shopping and restaurants including the "Top of the Hub" with its scenic views of the city skyline while dining.
  • Faneuil Hall on the waterfront - This special place dates back to Samuel Adams. Faneuil Hall is burgeoning with food, shopping and entertainment.
  • Fenway Park - Come and enjoy one of America's favorite past times played as it should be played by the Boston Red Sox.
  • Symphony Hall - Home of the Boston Pops Symphony.
  • The Boston Ballet - It is one of the best and is now in full season.
  • Quincy Market - More shops, restaurants and smells of a great city.
  • Copley Square - named for John Singleton Copley, a famous portrait artist, just adjacent to the finish line of the famous Boston Marathon.
  • The Boston Duck Tours - a W.W. II style amphibious landing vehicle that starts off as a tour bus and ends up as a boat, floating in the Charles River.  With the clever and entertaining drivers and tour guides, this is an experience you will not soon forget.
  • Catch a performance of The Blue Man Group at the Charles Playhouse.  If you have not seen this trio of blue mimes who love to play music, bang on drums and toss items into the audience you are missing an important cultural event.
  • Have a bowl or two of some fabulous clam chowder or as the natives like to say "Chow-da."

chowder

There are some heavy Active Rainers here (and I am not talking about our weight.)  I would attempt to name them but would fear leaving some out.  You know who we are...

And, with all of the questions I ask, it is obvious that I would benefit from attendance at a RainCamp.  So, on behalf of my Massachusetts and New England Active Rainer friends, I would like to make this request:

Please Come to Boston

Brittany:

Thank you but I don't think you should have to travel quite so far for Active Rain.  Maybe a RainCamp will be coming to your area.  But, if you would like to come just for Boston, that is another matter. You are very welcomed.

I've told anyone who will listen that if I can get some Red Sox tickets I'll do my best to make sure we are there before the season ends :-)

Bob:

Which game would you like to see?  I will gladly get you two tickets if you bring RainCamp here.

Claudette, what a fantastic dual purpose post! First as a pitch for Raincamp (I do hope you get one because they are incredible) and second as a great localism post!  I like the fact that you even threw in Red Sox tickets as an "incentive" ;-) have a good weekend!

Great post, I'd love to see more of these types of associations come here. It's nice to travel for conferences but also nice to have events local so others can experience our local attractions.

Hi, Russell:

Thanks so much. Why not lure Bob here with Red Sox tickets? I think that would be a fair exchange. I would love to have a RainCamp here. I could certainly use the advance training and would definitely look forward to meeting everyone.

Scott:

You will be in attendance, right?  It will be great to meet you and we can learn a lot from the Active Rain Gurus.

Claudette...

I have only been to Boston once ... on the way to Cape Cod! I remember a lot of traffic!

Richard:

That's a shame - then, you did not really have a chance to really see the city.  Do come back when you have a chance and take the Duck Tour.

I usually avoid the Cape because of the traffic.

Jen:

Hopefully, someone will listen to me.  It would be a great place for a RainCamp.

Claudette, Way to Go!!  Thanks for giving AR the prod they needed to realize that Boston rocks...almost as much as the New England rainers do.

I always welcome an opportunity to head into The Big City...this one is wicked cool. :)

I was a Metrowest gal for 20 years before heading to NH.  I look forward to meeting you at RainCamp!
