Housing Grants in Senatobia MS-Southaven MS-Horn Lake MS-and Desoto County MS
Mississippi Development Authority has announced that there are 32 housing grants available for homebuyers purchasing a home in the city limits of Senatobia MS, Southaven MS, Horn Lake MS or Desoto County MS.
These grants are in the maximum amount of $28,750 each and can be used in combination with FHA loans, VA loans, USDA loans or conventional loans. The housing grant funds can be used for downpayment, closing costs and for principal reduction of the mortgage loan.
Here are a few of the basic qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Can not have a felony conviction
- Can not be a current homeowner
- Must not make over the income maximums for the county in which the home is located
- Must have sufficient income and credit to qualify for the mortgage loan
Both a home inspection report and an appraisal will be required on the house. Any marginal or required repairs must be made by the seller prior to close. HUD homes will not qualify for this grant.
You will be required to attend an 8-hour Home Buyer Education Course and you must occupy the home.
