Lafayete Square, Washington and Lafayette

Kudos to the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation for keeping our monuments clean. While standing in front of my listing at The Monterey waiting for a buyer, I watched a woman from NYC parks and recreation clean "Lafayette and Washington" the monument at Lafayette Square. Hopefully she was able to get out the blue graffitti stain on the monument's base. The spray didn't seem to do the job so it looked like they patched it and covered with tape.

I'm having an Open House at The Monterey (directly opposite the monument) today from 12:30 - 2:00 pm. I'm hoping they were able to restore it. I'll take a new picture.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

My house had a bath like that about a month ago. What a difference a power washing makes!

Mitchell - your city taxes at work. Between the graffiti and the pigeons...

Hope you Open House goes well.

Mitchell, Prior to reading this I never really gave any thought to the maintenance that goes into statues and monuments. Glad to hear NYC is taking care of the monuments.

Hi Mitchell... the New York City Parks and Recreation people really do an outstanding job.  I understand the pigeons but it sort of annoys me that they have to deal with damage caused by people.

Mitchell, they're getting a bath!  Right in front of everyone!  Glad to see them keeping up appearances in NYC!

Mitchell when statutes are clean they are more appealing, and I suspect will stay in good shape longer.

It can be easy to take our monuments for granite; nice to see these are well cared for.
