"Let's Get Soci@l e-book, a Review of Soci@l: Attract Friends, Followers, and Connections to Your Business"

"Soci@l - Attract Friends, Followers and Connections to Your Business" has been one of the better written books discussing Social Marketing Media and blogging.  Thank you for donating the time and efforts.  I thought I was walking the walk and talking the talk - but was I really listening to myself?  When I started reading this book, it reminded me of another book I read long time ago while taking a Dale Carnegie course....something about getting a whack on the side of my head....does anyone remember that? Well thanks for the reality check again!  This book did it again!

 One of the chapters of interest to me in Soci@l (it was difficult to pick just one) was the one about "Effective Blogging - writing content that ranks and get's read".  "Blogging Rocks, yes it does and for me you wrote in the book about an agent Virginia Hepp and her experiencing a bad time and having almost no online presence.  She goes on to say that the market had slowed to a snail's pace for her, and said that blogging literally saved her career, became her savior."

Wow, now if that didn't wake me up.  I too recently have been experiencing lows as I am sure many realtors have.  Coming from a computer technology background of over 15 years prior to starting my real estate business, I was ever so busy working 10-12 hours a day in technology, but always feeling a reward at the end of each day.  I have had serious thoughts recently of throwing in the Real Estate towel. But after getting revitalized and reading the e-book on Soci@l and reading about people in similar circumstances, I got me right back on that horse. To let you know, I never give up either!  If I don't get on the horse, or ride the wave, I always find some mode of transportation to get me to the results I need for myself.

Some other worthwhile exerpts from this book that stuck out for me - ..... a quote from Erik Qaulman, "Social Media is a fundamental shift in the way we communicate".  We all have to get on this wave and ride the wave, even if we have roadblocks like "oil spills", bad economic times, etc.  We have to learn to stick our heads out like a turtle, another great comment in the book.  My new motto is going to be:

"EVOLVE AND THRIVE........VS....... "CONTSTANT COMPLAINTS LEADS TO EXTINCTION".  We have to help ATTRACT Friends, Followers, and Connections to our business - TO EVOLVE AND THRIVE.

Everyday I reach out to my fellow Realtors and explain the importance of getting on THIS Social Media Bus.  Some look at me and agree, some look at me and say I'm here to make money and I don't have time for this Soci@l stuff.  I persist and follow up with them a month later and some are still complaining they are too busy trying to make money.  Some do get started on this bus, but don't make it to their destination.  Well, that's ok, but for me...I'm stickin on this bus - and not getting off until it comes back around!
