I hope all of the Men out there who are Dad's are being properly spoiled today!    Happy Fathers Day to all....

I am sitting here waiting for my family to come over so we can celebrate my brother and my Dad....the Dad's in this family....My Husband is spending it alone in Illinois...can't wait til he can move out here....3 more years!

I want to send a special shout out to my Dad...He is an amazing man....he helps me in more ways than I can even list here.

Last weekend he came over while I was working and weeded some of my front flower beds...between shoulder surgery earlier this year, being extremely bzy this spring with Real Estate and getting bronchitis....my yard has really been neglected.   Dad came over last Friday and worked...Last Saturday he came back and we worked on the yard for 5 hours...deciding to completely dig up one flower bed...then after he knew the garbage man had emptied my 2 very full 50 gallon cans of the yard waste....he came back over on Monday while I was working and finished up some more....It seems like it is a never ending job...and he usually comes over with a smile on his face...

Dad also helps me out in my second business...the primitive crafting business....some times he helps me paint...or stuff doll legs....or mount stitcheries....or even get my line of friend ship cards all packaged...and as if that wasn't enough he comes to help me load up my truck and unloads me at the shows I do...and will even sit with me so I don't have to work the show alone!

In Real Estate he helps me with signs I can't put up alone...as well as when I need help rearranging or even moving my office...

Dad retired a few years ago and my sister Janne and I keep him very busy...with all sorts of honey do lists.   He used to help her out in her business every month doing deliveries.  He is almost always available to baby sit...   He loves his 4 grand kids so much...watches them and gives them special time with Papa...I am not sure who aggravates who the most...the kids to him or the other way around. He always says....there are special rules at Grandpa and Grandma's house...and they are different than they are at home...He always entertains the kids....he doesn't just leave them alone to watch TV...they have certain rituals they must do when visiting Papa....now he is trying to teach them to play the guitar.

When my husband comes out to visit there seems to always be projects that need tended too... Dad is always there ready to help Frank out...

Dad and I have learned how to get along through the years...there are many topics we can't discuss when we are together as we have very differing ideas....sometimes we are closer in our opinions than either of us are willing to admit...

But it is with this that I salute my Dad....Larry Byron...Thank you for being YOU....the one who is always willing to help when ever I call in a panic!  Thank you for always rescuing me!!  I promise to keep my gas tank fuller than on empty...and to do all the other things you taught me throughout my years!

I'm glad that you posted a wonderful tribute to your Father. Fathers are to be honored and have som to do with our upbringing and guiding our lives with love and wisdom. My father (and mother too) have both passed away, but I will always remember them, and I am so thankful that they lived Christian Lives, that helped shape my life. I'll never forget them reading from God's word daily, seeing them pray as they studied their sunday school lessons, seeing them pray together, and knowing they was praying for me (and my brother and sister), even as they knew I was out all night and living foolishly. I came home one morning around 5am after I wrecked my car driving home. They didn't say anything when I came home, they let me sleep it off. When I awoke, they handled everything with so much grace, they did not yell at me, or have an attitude of "I told you so" or anything like that. If it wasn't for their prayers, I made not have made it home that night.

I learned so much from my father and mother. I only wish I could still have them with me today.
