Many people know that I take regular walks at the San Diego Zoo, so they've been requesting pictures of the big cats.

I'm always willing to try to please the ActiveRain crowd, but the big cats are usually sleeping so it's often difficult to get good pictures of them. That's one reason why it's useful to have an annual pass to the Zoo; I can go by anytime and check up on them. I just have to make sure that I have my camera with me.

Here, then, without further adieux, are my latest big cat pictures from this past Saturday. The only cats that were active were the two mountain lions, but I think you'll agree they gave us some beautiful pictures.

Hope all you cat lovers are happy now! ☺☻☻☺

Hi Russell,

In my opinion, there are no better big "cats" than leopards and cougars. Love 'em all, but these guys exibit the grace and power associated with that deep gene pool. You are so lucky to be close to such a wonderful place!

all the best...

Zoe's big cousin looks as though it is his job to supervise the zoo grounds peering like a lookout for a robbery.

I wish I had a zoo nearby to take my walks.  I didn't know you take requests, lol!  I will keep that in mind.  Great photos as usual!

They are beautiful, graceful animals -- and I like them better here in your photos than on the hiking trail!

OMG Russel!  What a gorgeous kitty!  I wish I had the time to go to the zoo once in awhile.  You must live really close to go as often as you do.  Thx for the pix - LOVE THEM!

Beautiful! And I love the way you captured his/her obvious sniffing of something interesting. It's so amazing how similar our little pets are to their much larger family members!

Hey, everyone!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

I've been very busy, but today I'm trying to follow up on these older posts like this one to see if anyone had any questions or if I really need to respond to anyone's comments.

I will read all the comments and respond to any that need a response, but since this post is rather old, rather than making comments here in my post to each and every one of you, I'll just let everyone know that I have read all the comments and if there are any questions, I'll answer those in comments below this one. Otherwise I'll simply post this comment and then head over to your blogs soon to visit and do some reading and commenting. I hope you'll have a nice welcome mat out for me!

Don't forget to let your cat come out to play with all the other ActiveRain kitties. Your cat-friendly dogs can come, too!

If you need a great cat book, get yourself a copy of Peg Silloway's The Cat Lover's Book of Days.

Hope all is well with everyone.
