"Happiness is not an accident. Nor is it something you wish for. Happiness is something you design"
I absolutely love this one, when you think about it, it really rings true. Why would you waste time wishing for happiness, when you should be spending that time designing a life that is creating happiness. That may take some soul searching deciding what truly is important in your life. Happiness comes from spending time with your loved ones.
Whether that time together is on a cruise, at a special beach, or hot dogs and hamburgers at the local park, the point of the exercise is being together. How many of us as kids hold our fondest memories of times that were a simple family get together, we don't remember where it was, but more importantly that we were together.
As parents and business people we strive to do better, to help our children do better, but we sometimes loose sight of the really important part of the equation, just being together.
Gerry I'm learning and designing at the same time. Lately there is just so much peacefulness in my life.
Helly Gerry, I love that quote you started with. This blog is so true and we can all use reminding from time to time. Enjoy making those memories.
Gerry, I was just having a conversation like this with my daughter. Trying to communicate to her that nothing buys happiness. Happiness is something you have to come to grips with in life that YOU have to make the decision about.
Gerry, Being together is the best gift we can give each other. Once we part and go our separate ways, it's hard to create that togetherness again. Thanks for a great message!
Boy you are absolutely right with this one Gettysburg Gerry. Last week was with the family and we were laughing at all those 'childhood memories'. Your right couldn't tell you where we were, just the stuff we did!
Hi Gerry! I love this post--it's look and it's content! I am guilty of being a workaholic and need to spend more time making memories with family and friends. I know that and keep on working! One day...I promise...I'm going to get to memory making!
Thanks for the reminder!
I tend to put too much attention on making everything "just right" when it actually would be fine without all the stress. I needed to hear this and be reminded to just sit and enjoy instead of orchestrate.
