Former Washington Mystics Player Now Woodbridge FHA/VA Lender. Oh those were the days running out on the court in front of fthousand fans to play a game I love, needless to say it was a dream come true!
Nights of studying game film of the other teams have been replaced with nights of studying loan underwriting guidelines. I competed against fast, strong basketball players, now I compete against other lenders, appraisals, and closing dates.
During my time with the Mystics we were not the most successful team, except for 2000 when we made the playoffs. But I played everygame game to WIN, with the ultimate goal of winning a championship. Today, I get my WINS in a different way. Every time we successfully close a loan and help a homeowner make an informed buying decision I feel like we have won the championship! (Thank God for small victories)
I still enjoy playing the game basketball but as a mother of two adorable boys, wife, and of course, mortgage lender I will never play the game again on the highest level. At least I still have the opportunity to compete and WIN!
