The ACE Rule For Avoiding Pandora's Boxes

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Door AjarI was reading recently on Facebook about some folks getting themselves in jams with "entanglements" in real estate they had decided to pursue. Examples were like short sales when they were not familiar with how to do the deal, taking a buyer that takes two years to make a decision, working with a client that was far out of their geographic area of comfort which yielded high expenses to them and so forth.

Not only in real estate but in life NO can be a powerful word. Many of these doors that we open turn into a Pandora's Box wishing we could reverse opening that door or at the VERY BEST just a plain old can of worms. What we need to keep in mind with all our choices is BE CAREFUL and use

The ACE Rule for Avoiding Pandora's Boxes.

The A-C-E rule is AVOID COSTLY ENTANGLEMENTS. Beware and be slow and be careful before you open certain doors of any kinds. Sure you might be a calculated risk taker but sometimes first off when you open them you wish you never had like taking on an annoying person. I hope you have the energy. Some secrets you want to learn with some doors open maybe you really didn't want to learn them. Avoiding the COST of entanglements many times is a very smart move with that NO of yours. Often you CAN say NO MORE after a few steps through the door. ONE EXCEPTION to A-C-E is with love. Even with half of your heart give that to loving people. Never be hard hearted and not love others.

Woltal -  Exactly something I should of done early in my years when in the Industry.  Heck, something I should have done at times in my latter years.  Saves time and money and often times, one's reputation.  Alas, hindsight...

"NO" is a powerful word and we all should use it much more often.  How often do you find yourself doing something you really don't want to be doing just because you couldn't say no?  I am getting much better at being honest in this regard.  I think it has to do with the lack of patience I have developed with age, LOL!

Gary, NO is the smallest word and means so much if we would just use it more and save some problems and heartache.  Love the song, Half of My Heart...I've never heard it til now...thanks!

Knowing when to say no, particularly in a commission based business, is a tough thing. It can take an incredible leap of faith if you have't had a paycheck in a while. You might not see the forest for the trees. It's a tough lesson for agents to learn.

Some lessons may be hard to learn but saying NO sometimes feels empowering when everything has been said that can be said but that one word. Thanks for the reminder to always love Gary.
