Arlington Heights
Arlington Park Racecourse 2200 W Euclid Ave, 847-385-7500, arlingtonpark.com. "Racing, Fireworks and Music." Twilight horse racing starts at 4pm; 30-plus minute fireworks show starts at dusk. General admission tickets $10, in advance $8. Reserved seats $10-$20.

Bartlett  9:30 p.m. Fireworks Extravaganza * (music simulcast on FM 98.1)
*The Festival Closes at 9:30 p.m. BEFORE FIREWORKS & will reopen afterwards until 11 p.m.

McHenry Jaycees Annual Jaycee Day fireworks at Petersen Park in Mchenry on Mccullom Lake Rd. our parking starts at 430pm our fireworks start at dusk.   815-482-5885, www.mchenryjaycees.org

Buffalo Grove Rotary Village Green, Lake Cook Rd and Raupp Blvd, 847-459-2500, vbg.org. The Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band performs at 7pm; fireworks start at 9:15pm. Free.

Chicago Navy Pier, 600 E Grand Ave, 312-595-7437, navypier.com. 9pm. Free. The city joins forces with Navy Pier, shooting fireworks from three lake barges.

Evanston Dawes Park, Sheridan Rd at Church St, 847-637-5236, evanston4th.org. 9:15pm. Free.

Galena Annual community parade starts at 5:30 pm. After the parade enjoy live entertainment and food at the Green St. plaza until the fireworks begin. 815-776-9200 www.visitgalena.org

Glen Ellyn Lake Ellyn Park, 645 Lenox Rd, 630-469-5000, gepark.org. Parade and festival, noon-10pm. Fireworks start at dusk. $5 suggested donation per family.

Itasca Hamilton Lakes Office Campus, I-290 and Thorndale Ave, 630-773-0835, jamfests.com. One of the biggest fireworks displays in Illinois; check website for announcements of musical acts and other entertainment. 4-11pm; fireworks start at dusk. Admission free, parking $20.

Lake Forest Deerpath Community Park, 400 Hastings Rd, 847-234-2600, friendslfpr.org. Festival from 5-10pm; fireworks start at 9:30pm. $10 at gate; $7.50 online.

Libertyville Butler Lake Park, 810 Lake St, 847-918-7275, libertyville.com. 9:30pm. Free.

Naperville Knoch Park 753 S West St, 630-779-2702, naperville.il.us/ribfest.aspx. Fireworks start at 9:30pm. $10, 11 and under free, includes Ribfest admission. Buy $8 tickets at area Jewel stores and park-district sites.
