My very first blog - Why I'm a Realtor

By
Real Estate Agent with Referral Associates of Georgia, Inc.

As the saying goes...  There's a first time for everything.  Here's my first blog.

I'm sitting at my desk, my Freecyle poochie at my feet, pondering why I went into Real Estate.

I love looking at houses.  I love to have company while I'm looking at houses.  It's a simple as that.

I got my license just one year ago.  Tomorrow is my "Real Estate Anniversary".  It's slow going but I've managed to sell a few houses and I'm having a blast.  I love taking a client to a house and seeing his or her face light up with that "yep, this is the one" look!

I've been reading YOUR blogs all day and have come across some great advise.  I'd love to hear more.  :-)

I'd also love to hear why YOU got into the Real Estate Business, how long you've been a Realtor, and if you like your job today as much as you did when you first started.

Thanks!

Who do you know that wants to buy or sell Real Estate???

Welcome.  I fell into real estate myself.  You can read about it in my profile.  I love it.  I love the crazy nature of it too.  Good luck and I hope to see you around!  Feel free to post blogs when you have questions.  I find that everyone is very willing to offer advice and help.  Active rain is a great thing!

Hi Nancy. I also love houses and I loved the time I sold RE. 2/3 of the houses I sold was as a buyer's agent. I am now a virtual assistant. I challenge myself to automate processes to save time and I love doing it for other people. I love the paperwork and the challenge of deadlines associated with transaction. I love seeing people's dreams come true and being a part of other people's successes.

Well congrats on the 1 year anniversary~ I got into real estate about 3 months after we closed on our first home. I loved the idea of being out of the office and in the field to work plus I love people in general! I am a social butterfly and it works well for me.

Our agent was awesome and we loved her! She gave me some good advice and then I moved forward to get my real estate license. I have been happy with my career change i=and it's been the best thing for me!

Nancy, congrats on making the first year....I would say they get easier, but they dont.  I think they get harder!

Maybe it's because people just expect more from you the longer you are in the biz.  I have ten in my rearview mirror.

You hit the nail on the head.....HAVE FUN!  When it is no longer FUN.....the party is over, turn out the lights and go get a job!

Congrats...and BEST wishes in your future.

Maureen -

It's great meeting new people every week, isn't it?  And everyone is soooo different.  The only thing they all have in common is that they're either buying or selling Real Estate.

The man that sold us the house we're living in is now a Broker.  Guess who I'm working for???

PS - My Mom is from Springfield.  I love it there!

First year and a tough market. Congrats! My wife and I used to go driving neighborhoods when my kids were young (to put them to sleep). Soon we started going to weekend open houses and now I am hooked!!!
