Trenton's Happiest Couple (Redux)

By
Real Estate Agent with Century 21 Lanthorn Real Estate LTD., Trenton, Ontario

In April I wrote a post entitled Trenton's Happiest Couple. It was about a pair of swans who had been coming to a particular pond in Trenton every spring and summer for a few years. Every year they happily claimed this murky pond and swam around in it after building a nest. Alas, every year when the time came, they left for warmer parts, just the two of them. I wondered if the couple were unable to have offspring.

Well, apparently they are. Driving by the pond this morning I noticed them swimming around. I hadn't seen any swans for a few days, and I was worried that something might have happened to them. Not only did I see the swan couple, but a cute little pair of signets were swimming around too.

Proud mama and papa swam close to the little pair, never venturing far away. For now they seem happy with this arrangement. Just wait until they are teenagers though, the pond may become too small. Maybe I should have given them my card and told them to keep me in mind when they start looking for a bigger place.

AWWWWW, too cute.    It fun to watch the wildlife, as long as they are not destructive!

Is this life imitating art?  Is this nature imitating life? Whatever it is I am thrilled to hear of their success and your focus on real estate.  I can go on with the rest of the day, knowing you have the northern country covered. Thanks for your humor and focus

Malcolm,

For several years, actually three in  a row, we had a a pair of ducks arrive and spend a day in our swimming pool (before it was cleaned), enroute north.

The male was clearly the same since he had a nose ring. Actually, it was a fish hook. But it allowed us to be sure that it was the same duck. As for the "Mrs." we're really not sure.!

Malcolm Johnston (Remax Trent Valley, Trenton, Ontario):  You pig!  Did you even congratulate them?  Did you even consider going to the swan baby shower?  You're just like a guy!  ('cause I wundnt gone, either)

I like your last line...I wonder whether these swans would qualify for a loan.  You wonder whether the banks would take just as long to process it (and whether they'd realize that the application actually came from SWANS).

Larry:  Your first two questions are perfect!  I don't know whether the answers will benefit us, but it's sure fun trying to figure them.

Malcolm Johnston (Remax Trent Valley, Trenton, Ontario):  Maybe you could start a Swan Bank for Substandard Credit.  However, unlike some governments near you, the Canadien government would be too smart to fund that "company."

I hope you have better luck with your upcoming callers with their credit.  I think you're due.

Chris Wechner (Section 8 Pros)Thanks Chris, I don't think I would b a very good banker though. I fall for sob stories far too often.

Ellie McIntire Real Estate in Howard County Maryland (The McIntire Team of Long & Foster) Ellie, they are very graceful and they are surprisingly powerful too. I watched one of them chase away an unfortunate goose who made the mistake of landing in the pond. There was no mistake about who would win that confrontation.
