I'd like to preface this blog with a congratulations to the top agents who have created a fantastic residual income through prior efforts. Now, that being said I think there are some top agents that are simply going through the motions and not working hard to sell their listings.
I see some top agents entering listings with one picture. I don't think this is fair to the seller. They are hiring a big name, but are they hiring big service? Also is this big name benefiting them at all?
Some of the top agents spend more time golfing than actually working. I'd like to say that most people didn't hire the assistant to the top agent, they hired the top agent.
Is your top agent, an old name? Is this agent someone that is using modern day technology to market and sell your home or are they simply just a name you've heard before?
I think the modern day seller and buyer need to more carefully evaluate who they are hiring and why. Just because someone has been in business for 15 years doesn't mean they are the best suited to market and sell your home. A lot of the big name agents have so much business that they are simply going through the motions. When you hire a Realtor consider what they are able to do for you and how quickly they'll be able to do it. Evaluate their work ethic and consider the value of a name versus the value of a hard working, tech savvy real estate agent.
Technology is changing everything we do. Social media the here to stay. If your agent isn't tapping the potential of these avenues it's important that you re-evaluate who you hired and consider someone who is up to date, ready, and willing.
