Week 2: Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve in Mahomet, Illinois

 

In this week's "Things to Do in Champaign, Illinois" series, the spotlight is on Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve in nearby Mahomet, Illinois!

There is tons to do and see at this place, as you can tell by the entry sign!

If it's activity you're after, you can go biking, walking, or golfing (and the golf course is gorgeous!).

Wanting to relax? Try some fishing or picnicing by the lake.

Sight-seeing is what you had in mind? There's an Early American Museum on the premises, or you can stroll through the botanical gardens right next door.

The Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve is huge...it will take you a while to run out of things to do. And most of it, even the museum, can be visited for FREE!
