Continuing on our Josephine County Historical Society's "Passport To History" program finds us at Griffin Park.  It's a beautiful day on the Rogue River at Griffin Park, near where the Applegate River joins it for their journey to the pacific ocean.

The fishing boats are leisurely floating around the bends, and then powering back up river to float again over the rich fishing bonanzas.

The geese are keeping watch from the banks and on the water.

A young otter playfully swims upriver a ways, and floats back to base in the fast flowing water.

It is another beautiful summer day here in "God's country," and Griffin Park.

The first day of summer brought us a 83° day at Griffin Park.

Gary, I was enjoying the pictures and got to the mosquitos bit. I lived in Minnesota for many years and still don't believe the joy of a bite free summer. I'll never go back. Three years ago my wife and I hiked the wild Rogue from Grants pass to the take out below Paradise Lodge. What a week, and the bears didn't get our food.
