The box office opens 7:30 pm Sunday thru Thursday and 7:00 pm Friday and Saturday.

The Santee Drive-In Theatre is one of two remainingDrive-In Theatres in San Diego. Talk about nostalgia, you will find it here! With a great little snack bar, a great big screen and the sound coming through the stereo, you can't beat the Santee Drive-In for a good time on the cheap! The staff keeps the lot clean and makes sure the large vehicles are in the proper spaces. Be sure and turn on your vehicle between movies or you may get a dead battery! But don't worry if you do, the battery guy is always around the corner to get you back up and running again!

On Saturday and Sunday the Santee Drive-In is also host to the swap meet. Don't have the room for a yard sale or your complex won't allow it? Pack up the car and the kids and get to the Santee Drive-In Theatre! Good times.....

Stephanie, Drive-ins are so much fun. We used to go all the time when I was a kid and I'm looking forward to taking my grandkids this summer.

Hey Stephanie, I love drive in theaters...I've never been to one but I know I would love it :)  It Think in New York the only one left is located in Albany NY.  Perhaps one of these days I'll venture in that direction, have a great one!

Hi Stephanie...

I LOVE the drive-in!!! The ones in New Jersey have been closed down for years... But since I'm a kid, we've been driving Upstate New York (down the road from my grandmothers old country house lol)... it's about an hour from home but worth it!  Bring some lawn chairs, spread out a blanket in the grass or open up the hatchback.. its' so much more comfortable and fun than a traditional movie theater.  Last year we went almost ever weekend! LOL.. We try to make a day of it, with the river being minutes away.. we'll go swimming, have a BBQ .. then hit the drive-in!

To Carole above.. Where we go is soooo much closer than Albany.  Its only an hour (from NYC) up Route 17, just past Middletown.  It's called the Fair Oaks Drive-In....

There's a drive-in that's still open down in the South Bay. I forget exactly where but I've been by it several times.

My family back in my hometown operated the drive-in theater in town. It was the only theater in town until an indoor theater opened in 1968, and that put our drive-in out of business.
