While driving through Temecula Wine County the other day…I said to myself (yes, I talk to myself) that I should post some subject matter on Temecula Wine Country. So here you go, this is my best description:
Conveniently located just 90 miles southeast of Los Angeles and 60 miles north of San Diego lies the beautiful Temecula Valley Wine Country. With its rolling hills, breathtaking views, and coastal afternoon breezes, Temecula Valley is home to more than 30 wineries. From small boutique wineries to charming bed and breakfasts to full service resorts, the valley produces hundreds of award-winning premium wines that are recognized by wine connoisseurs internationally. The unique microclimate and well-drained decomposed granite soils allow the expert vintners to produce top quality wines. Most wineries are open daily from 10am to 5pm, and offer wine tasting and tours. One of my personal favorites is South Coast Winery (http://www.southcoastwinery.com/).
South Coast Winery has been recognized as the “Best Winery in California” for two consecutive years along with the prestige’s Golden Bear Award on July 9, 2009.
