FUN FOR YOU: 2010 Calendars of Events SW Washington
For your convenience, here are lots of SW Washington events calendars and links for summer fun. I am including Long Beach, WA because I know many of us escape to the beach for a weekend get-a-way because there are so many fun and relaxing things to do there. With the sunny days of summer upon us and even the cloudy days too here in SW Washington...there are plenty of events for you and your family to check out. Most of them don't cost anything to attend, just show up and have fun.
My favorite place to go for a weekend of fun being a tourist is Long Beach, WA. Here is the Long Beach 2010 Calendar of Events. There are so many great shops to wander through, kite shops, beach clothing and beach toys, some fun 2nd hand shops, the boardwalk down on the beach and there's always Marsh's Free Museum to see Jake the Alligator Man and our favorite morning tradition: Cottage Bakery & Delicatessen. Our granddaughter Regan loves the Cottage Bakery "Princess Cupcakes" that are decked out in delicately designed Princess dresses. Don't forget to check out the kite stores while you are there!
If you want to stay closer to home, there are plenty of local events in Vancouver, WA. Here is the City of Vancouver 2010 Calendar of Events. What's nice about this link is that it is full of other useful links like the Fort Vancouver Library Link, the YWCA links, the Pearson Air Museum links and lots more fun event links. Vancouver WA also boasts the largest fireworks display this side of the Mississippi, Fourth of July Fireworks Display 2010. The event happens down near the Columbia river in the Vancouver National Historic Reserve area by the Fort Vancouver National Park., which has it's own schedule of events to be found with that link.
Camas, Washington is a quaint little town and has a lot of family centered events during the summer. It is known for it's Movies in the Park and also the Concert in the Park series. Both of these events are held up in the Crown Park. Crown Park, built in 1954, has a great swimming pool area that is great for family gatherings. It has a large pool, medium size pool and "baby" pool. There's also a tennis court and playground area too. Crown Park is located on several beautifully treed acres with room for playing a friendly game of family baseball or volleyball..
If you are the type that loves concerts and the old time country fairs, Clark County in SW Washington touts a fabulous, "full-service" calendar of events for 2010. Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds is a link you will appreciate. For the 2010 year the fairground has a wide variety of events such as the Wedding Expo, the Vancouver Kennel Club event, the Promoto Promotioni Motorcross, and the Holiday Gifts Fair.
