Yesterday I drove up to the International Design Center www.idcfl.com in Estero. They have been advertising 70% off samples. Since I have been doing some remodeling and hope to redecorate my family room, I decided to go up there and check out the place. There was a $10.00 admission charge to enter. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Senior Friendship Centers.
The building is beautiful - a great place for showrooms. The first floor showrooms are open to consumers to purchase. The second and third floors are trade floors. There are several vacant showrooms in the building. Especially on the third floor.
If your taste runs toward traditional and you have to furnish one of Naples' huge mansions, this is the place for you. If you live in a condo and have more contemporary taste.........a trip to Miami might be a better use of your time. The furniture being displayed was enormous! Even the patio furniture being displayed was huge. I live in a condo that has 2,025 sq. ft. under air. There is no way anything I looked at would have fit in my home.
I was hoping to see some different bar stools and patio furniture. I had no luck in finding anything I liked. I guess I will have to travel to Miami or spend some hours on the Internet looking for bar stools and patio furniture. Anyone know where I could find a half way decent 41" round patio table? I also need patio chairs on rollers that have straight backs. The size of my lanai will not allow chairs with a flared back. We actually eat on our lanai. It is nice to see rainbows while you are on your lanai!
Their was a beautiful sunset at the beach last night. Too bad I forgot to put my camera in my beach bag.....
