Residential AreaStarting at the famous 41st street and extending to the gorgeous New Brighten State Park, Capitola is a priceless treasure to the Monterey Bay. The town was founded in 1869 and the unique historical aspects of the Capitola give it character and charm. Hugging the coastline are communities of ornate and Victorian architecture that are stylish and beautiful. The locals indulge in the relaxed lifestyle of this quaint beach town by waxing up their surfboards for the next big set, enjoying the excellent cuisine and checking out the stylish boutiques.

Recently remodeled, the Capitola Wharf has become a popular stop for fishing enthusiasts. The variety of fish ranging from white croaker, several smaller species of perch, and halibut attract all fishers to experience the thrill of the catch. While some people are buying their fishing supplies at the Capitola Boat and Bait Shop, others are enjoying fresh and well prepared seafood at the Wharf House Restaurant.Other great local restaurants to enjoy are the Paradise Beach Grille which serves outstanding American and Seafood entrées that are generously portioned, also the always fun Margaritaville provides locals with a delightful happy hour. Gayle's Bakery and Rosticceria also makes the list and has been serving the Capitola community for the 30 years. Head over to this charming place and treat yourself to a delicious baked good or use their catering service for your next party.

The Capitola Village provides the community with fashionable boutiques, excellent restaurants, hospitable hotels, and much more. Recently removed from the village was the historical Capitola Theater. First built in 1948, the theater had been a part the community for 40 years. To most of the residences' dismay, the theater was demolished last May to make room for the new hotel. The theater will definitely be missed, however change can be a good thing.

Overall, this town has so much to offer within its city limits and is waiting to share it with anyone willing to embrace a ideal style of life.  Check out local listings in this area go to www.petecullen.com
