Still No Action by Congress
I will continue to write, post and copy the local newspaper until I get either a response or action from Reps. Marsha Blackburn or Lincoln Davis. Sellers already upside down, doing the right thing and not walking away but only going further in the hole waiting for something beyond their control. If this issue affects you or your buyers or sellers, feel free to copy and paste this letter or any others I post on the topic and send them to your representative..

Subject: Flood Insurance Funding - H.R. 4213
cc: The Tennessean
Greetings Congressman Blackburn,
Another week has passed, yet the H.R. 4213, which includes re-authorization for the NFIP has not passed. It is my understanding that new flood insurance policies cannot be written until the Congress enacts this legislation extending funding. Since the Senate has passed this legislation your constituencies are only awaiting you and the House to act on the bill.
In wake of the May floods, many of your constituents are in the process of selling or buying houses which have been held up for more than a month. These people are finding themselves financially distressed and coming up with additional money, that they don't have, to extend living arrangements. Some are even having to pay additional housing costs as they are in a position of living in other cities or states while trying to sell their home. Many of the homes waiting for these policies were not even affected by the flooding, yet banking and FEMA rules have them tied up waiting for flood policies.
Once again my concern is, why hasn't the House acted on this legislation? What have you and our other Tennessee Representatives done to expedite this routine vote? Why has this funding not been passed?
Sincerely,
Mike Nastri
Franklin Tennessee
