They're everywhere. They're everywhere. In my e-mail, on my website, on Twitter, even on my blogging site. I've had to disallow public comments on my blog posts due to them.
Who am I talking about, you ask?
Parasites - "An organism that grows, feeds, and is sheltered on or in a different organism while contributing nothing to the survival of its host."
I am a host organism. I am an independent contractor working in sales so I understand prospecting. What I do have a problem with is these parasitic spammers who are intruding on my business platforms, hoping that I will notice them and give them my business.
Yes, I notice them and NO I will not be giving them my business. The most common parasites of late have been those appearing as prospects on my website. They are promising to increase my presence on the Web and get me onto page one of Google.
Hello, I'm already there and that's how they found me I guess. I got there on my own, organically without their help. I look at the people who are following me on Twitter (@oakvilleontario). I would say the good majority of them are wanting my $$$$ for some reason or another.
Even on my Active Rain blog I received today not once but twice this message from a fellow blogger via the Contact Form.
"I'd appreciate a response to this question. I have a reason for asking and it may be a no brainer but I'm collecting data for a project.
If you sold a house worth $200,000 and it was a co-broke you would make $6,000 commission.
If you sold $200,000 worth of Fractional Real Estate (Like a Timeshare) you would make $80,000 Commission.
Question is, which would you rather do?"
Puleeze - Even if this real estate professional is sincere in this request, it comes across as spam in my humble opinion.
I don't sell fractional real estate or time shares and know nothing about them so have no interest in being part of this "project". Even my little pea brain knows that if a buyer is paying $200,000 for a piece of property and there is enough profit to pay the real estate professional $80,000 and the builder makes his cut, the buyer is seriously overpaying.
Parasites don't just go away. They like to hang onto their host making them listless and fatigued. You have to decide whether to accept them and just hope they go away over time, or to do battle with them. I'm tired of being tired.
I'm ready to fight.
Parasites be gone!
