Boston: Harbor, New England Aquarium , top of the Prudential tower, Duck-boat rides, Fanueil Hall, Boston science museum , Fenway Park, the Charles River, and the results of the big Dig 25 billion dollars later…One day photos and city views. We picked up 6 of my wife’s family at Logan Airport, and decided since we were going to be in Boston anyway…let show our guests around. If you get the chance to do the Duck Boat tours I recommend it highly. The Trucks were built as 1940’s as WWII troop carries and go on land as well as in the water. We started at the Aquarium and proceeded to see the city and learn its history from the land and the water. The site of the Boston Tea party, Bunker Hill Monument , the ship yards and much of the oldest Architecture in the country (dating back to the 1600 & 1700’s) resided along the Harbor and the Charles river (named after King Charles the II) in this bustling down town area.
Hope you enjoy the photos.
Above is the port area in Boston Harbor with the Chart House in the back ground
Below is an outdoor aquarium tank with a few Harbor seals doing circles for their guests.
Fanueil Hall & Quiny Market...Street performers and every type of food and shop you could imagine.
Fenway Park the home of the Boston Red Sox, taken from the 50th Floor of the Prudential Tower.
The Boston Museum of Art, reflection pond and fountain...the round brick area at the left was spraying water in to the air as children ran under the streams (sorry you can't see it from the shot).
Inside the Duck -Boat (notice the life preserves over head) this truck Boat was made in the Pontiac Plant in the 1940's for the U.S. army. Great way to see Boston from the water, and pavement.
Splash down in the Charles River...strange to see the water come up to the sides of where you are sitting, and hoping this thing is going to float.
Boston Museum of Science from the Charles River.
The Prudential Tower From the water...where some of the other photos were taken from.
The largest Cable bridge in the country (width wise) supporting 10 lanes of traffic coming and going to the city of Boston...I93 north back to our Home in New Hampshire. This two hour drive was well worth the trip, and as I said before the Duck Boats were really cool...for young and not so young.
