Client will not pay. What to do?

Hey fellas! I need some help.

I had an inspection scheduled and confirmed earlier this week at 10am.  I show up at the home and wait and wait.  It is out in the country, limited cell phone signal, about a 40 mile drive each way (Sealy).  I get tired of waiting so I decide to start in on the exterior inspection.  Finish the exterior inspection.  I get a trickle of a signal and I called the Realtors both buyer and seller and I get voice mails.  I called the client in Austin (I'm in Houston) figured maybe they were delayed in their trip.  I get their home phone, no cell, goes to voice mail.    I sit for an hour and a half and no one calls or shows up.  So I leave one final voice mail to tell them I am leaving.  I come back to the office and try the buyer's Realtor cell.  She answers and I ask her where everyone was this morning. She said "Oh, I think it got canceled . I am actually with the buyer right now let me give him the phone." My client gets on the phone and I asked him where they were this morning.  He tells me " Oh that DEAL fell through and we have moved on to another home."  I told him that it would have been nice to have been notified in advance and canceled.  I then mentioned that I needed to be compensated for my time and my trip since there was no cancellation.  He is refusing to pay.  Says the deal was canceled on the home and he is not going to pay and I can just sue him.  I have a loss of time at about 3 hours and about 80 miles of drive time plus loss of another inspection, that could have been booked

What are you thoughts on how this should be handled?  I have not worked with this Realtor before.

Thank you!
