Document Your Possessions ~Prepare for Disasters

Should you have an unfortunate event where you have personal items that are lost or stolen having a detailed, itemized, and documented inventory of all your possessions can go a long way to help you make a claim with your insurance company and/or file a claim with your local police.  It pays to be organized ahead of time. Save all your receipts and details of big ticket items, especially all your electronics. If there is a serial number be sure to have it documented. It is also recommended that you have photos of all your items, either still photos or video recorded. When it comes to coping with an unseen disaster it pays to be prepared.
