THE GOLD RUSH Sprint Triathlon IS ON - Charlotte NC

Charlotte NC - Sporting and Events - GOLD RUSH SPRINT TRIATHLON - Tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. at the Mecklenburg Aquatic Center - Hosted by Charlotte Latin School

The event begins at the Mecklenburg Aquatic Center (MAC) and ends at Charlotte Latin School (adjacent to the MAC in South Charlotte--just off of Providence Road)

Bring your best game--either individually or as a team. If you'd just like to come cheer on the participants--be sure to register for a door prize. We have some fantastic door prizes!

Proceeds from this event go to A Child's Place (local) and Polio Plus (national). Run for your health and for two very important charities. Read about these charities.

**NOTE: On-site registration will be available at the Mecklenburg Aquatic Center (MAC) Saturday morning prior to the triathlon from 5:00 - 6:30a.m.

Pippa: HEY! Yes, I'll be there--as a volunteer! My Rotary club is sponsoring the event and only one of our members can be spared! LOL Perhaps next year when my arm has fully healed--I don't think I could swim fast enough with one and 1/2 arms this year!!

I hope to be a participant in next years Gold Rush. My son is already starting to participate in these short/sprint triathalons. I have gotten him to promise to help me train and lose all the excess weight I put on since my injury years ago. It is time to hit the road again.

Hi Larry! I say we make a commitment to do it together next year! I couldn't do it because of the swimming portion--my arm is still not fully recovered but, I've been working on my swim stroke and am ALMOST there! I think I'll be READY for the 2011 triathlon!

Cherise: Thanks! I had a blast yesterday--I had three friends who did their vey first (one was age 56!) and they all finished and felt amazing! The best part of the whole thing is the causes we will contribute to--A Child's Place and Polio Plus; two great organizations that really do need our help!

Ann: I didn't participate--but, I did volunteer (and had a blast doing so also)! I think I would be in a pine box if I'd actually done it this year--I'm totally out of shape!
