A Hollywood film crew was in Leander recently to shoot 
scenes for the independent film “Dadgum, Texas.”
Leander will be the backdrop for the romantic comedy that is set to open next year.
The Texas Film Commission has stepped up to the plate to make Leander an enticing place for film makers with its Film Friendly Texas program.
The Film Friendly Texas program was started to help smaller communities who do not have a staff that can deal with film requests and can become certified film-friendly. This program has really helped put Leander’s name on the map.
Besides all of the great publicity Leander will receive by have a film made it town, it will also have a positive and instant economic impact.
Filming was completed on May 28.
Leander not only is a lovely place to live, but also a trend setting community basking in the publicity it will gain by haveing a movie produced right in town.
