If you love strawberries ~ you are in for a treat.

The 61ST Annual Strawberry Festival will take place on Sunday, June 27 from 2:00 - 4:00. The Hollis strawberry festival takes place at the Hollis common in Hollis and is hosted by the Hollis Women's club.

The festival will feature locally grown strawberries, music and crafts. You can enjoy homemade strawberry shortcakes and other strawberry treats.

The Hollis Town Band is one of the special events of the day. The Hollis Town Band will play popular music and classics. The highlight is when a lucky person's ticket is drawn to lead the band when it plays Stars and Strips Forever! Local artisans will be on hand as well showing and selling their beautiful works of art.

Kids will have plenty to do. There will be a play area with games and activities. And you can stop by to get your face painted or get t temporary tattoo.

Proceeds will go toward scholarships, community activities and the schools and will be awarded by the Hollis Woman's Club. The money the band gets from the event will go to young members to further their interests in music.

Dan ~ if you feel like taking a trip from Dacatur... I think you will enjoy the festival.. It is a lot of fun!

Leigh ~ I am sure this does bring back some wonderful memories.. Give me a call when you get to NH in August and we can sample some of those blueberries! Paddy P. will be in NH in August too! Maybe we can have a mini-AR meetup! That would be fun. Be sure and let me konw when you will be visiting.

Joan, I love strawberriess and I had some of the best strawberriess that I have ever had today at a graduation party that I went to. These strawberriess were HUGE and unbelievably sweet. They came from one of our local strawberry farms.

Joan - You have to love this time of year ..... it seems that every where you go there is a festivale or event where you can get "strawberry shortcakes and other strawberry treats"

It's great to see them used as a fund raiser for a worthwhile cause.

Joan..."late to the dance am I", but when your strawberry post came up in my searches, just had to log on.
Our church just completed it's Strawberry Festival. they did not experience the bad winds of last year & your festival being 61 yrs. young holds the record. There is something about summer, fun & strawberries. Do hope that it was a successful festival for all involved and that the worthy causes will see additional funds as a result.
