Build Your Brand Not Your Brokers

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with VRI HOMES 7871741

i am amazed how many agents work for real estate companies that feature the brokers name!

I have friends who have worked for these brokers for years and all the advertising and marketing they have done have only help broker not themselves.

When your building your brand please consider this,

R U Building your brand or your brokers.

These brokers have a brand because of all the agents building it.

Imagine having all the agents in your company adding your name to their marketing, would you increase your brand.

Oh, I could not agree more!  The larger companies are encouraging their agents to blog, facebook, twitter, etc all on the company site!  I cannot convince these agents that they are not doing anything for their own google juice!    Oh, well.  I fear they will understand too late.  At least we have AR helping us understand a few of these things....

I enjoy the best of both worlds, focusing on personal branding and the benefits of the Prudential Franchise.  It always amazes me when agents focus solely on marketing their brokerages and forget themselves!

I have a male friend who works for a female bigwig broker. He has to answer his CELL PHONE with her name. Harassing him over this has yet to get old!

Great post.  Lately I feel like I have been building my brokers name.  His requirements are absurd sometimes it seems.  I find it hard putting my name out there sometimes with the requirements.

Lawrence,

Plus if you change brokers you start the process all over again.

Melissa,

Ever think of changing brokers?

Question:  I have taken a position as a Sales Manager for a new company and they do nothing to get the word out about the company.  I have done post and various web sites and have started  a mailing compaign.  Any advice would be welcomed.

It is my impression that according to NYS law the Brokers Name and number has to be on top and larger?  I know I dont know it all but I dont remember this in school.  Alls I remember is about blind ads.  I dont know how to bring it up.  I want to build my name but I dont want to go against the state.

I could not agree more- Get your own website not broker provided website, get you own domain with your email - not only brokerage email...
