So I may finally have found something that works with my dogs' "social" issues....

For those of you who have read any of my past blogs, you'll know that I have to little guys that I love so much.  They're the best.  Great little dogs and the best of buds at home.

When I take them for walks, well, that is a whole new ballpark.

They turn into screaming banshees or tasmanian devils - take your pick.

Anyway, I've been through several trainers and several training products and can't seem to break that habit.

Well, the other day, when I was getting ready to take them for a walk I noticed on my way out I had a couple of 8 1/2 x 11" flyers rolled into my doorknob so I just took them off the knob and kept them with me until I came back to put into the recyclling bin.

Well, as soon as they started to go into their routine of becoming aggressive when another resident was walking by with their dogs, I snapped those rolled up papers on my thigh and they both immediately stopped their behavior!!

They both looked up at me as if to say "what was that?!!"

So there you go.

I may have discovered my "nuclear" arsenal against weapons of mass disobedience.................

I got such a chuckle out of this. Great solution! I have grown to believe the smaller the dog, the more screaming they do...want show they're not a 'pushover'.

Well Ralph, all it takes it getting there attention and anything that gets their attention will work.  You need to make sure that you don't continue walking until they actually pay attention to you...because that is the reward, continuing the walk.  Good luck and don't beat youself up over it...LOL
