THE PERFECT PICTURE
Real Estate is always interesting, sometimes stressful, never boring, and as of recent- funny too!
About two weeks ago I obtained a listing in Sailor's Key, a waterfront community in Great Kills, Staten Island. I had taken some nice inside pictures of the house but also wanted to get a nice photo by the water and park nearby. So, I set myself up at a particular spot and proceeded to stand on a wooden fence rail to take the picture I wanted. The position was too high- it didn't quite capture the picture I wanted. So, I decided to jump up and sit on a stone wall nearby that I thought would be the perfect height. I was right, it was perfect. However, I didn't see the wastebasket below the stone wall and my camera fell in as soon as I sat down! Well, I had no choice, I was horrified but I had to "go in and rescue my camera!" But when did they start making these things so deep? I held my hair back with my left hand and it seemed like my right hand grew a "foot" as I reached in and grabbed for my camera. I was thankful I was only "squirming" amongst someone's empty "Caffe Latte" cup, an empty potato chip bag, some candy wrappers and I think a water bottle. I was really, really grateful that someone didn't leave a "donation" in a plastic bag from their pet, Fido! Luckily, I come prepared for anything- I did, thank heavens! have a case of wipes in my glove compartment. I "cleaned up shop" and went back to my stone wall and took my picture.
