It's said that ethical people always do the right thing.

In fact, one of the age old tests of personal ethics is not doing something wrong even when no one is around to see you.

Sometimes it can be tempting to do something wrong if no one sees you. It's also easy not to do something right or good if no one sees you because people do like to be recognized. It's part of human nature. Just look at all the testimonials on the profile pages of the members here at ActiveRain. That's recognition.

Next time you see someone do something right or good, tell them how much you appreciate the job they did. Tell them you'll be happy to refer business to them if the opportunity arises.

Tell them, "Thank you." It's simple, but oh so powerful.

In today's times, when everyone is so quick to complain, YES we do need to praise whenever possible.   Especially our home inspectors and lenders!

You are so right, Russell!    We need to stay above temptation - isn't that what it is all about?

Russel...I agree with you completely.  It is equally important to do the right thing as it is to not do the wrong thing.  Recognizing positive behavior is a great thing to do.  I believe positive recognition breeds positive actions.

Hi Russel. When I work with other realtors ® who have integrity I send a Thank You card to them. They are usually very surprised that others notice but it's great when others strive to maintain integrity.

Hey, everyone!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

I've been very busy, but today I'm trying to follow up on these older posts like this one to see if anyone had any questions or if I really need to respond to anyone's comments.

I will read all the comments and respond to any that need a response, but since this post is rather old, rather than making comments here in my post to each and every one of you, I'll just let everyone know that I have read all the comments and if there are any questions, I'll answer those in comments below this one. Otherwise I'll simply post this comment and then head over to your blogs soon to visit and do some reading and commenting. I hope you'll have a nice welcome mat out for me!

Don't forget to let your cat come out to play with all the other ActiveRain kitties. Your cat-friendly dogs can come, too!

If you need a great cat book, get yourself a copy of Peg Silloway's The Cat Lover's Book of Days.

Hope all is well with everyone.
