For sunscreen that is. Did you know that a SPF of 30 doesn't offer twice as much protection as SPF 30?
SPF of 15 blocks 94% of UVB rays, SPF 30 blocks 97% and SPF 45 blocks 98%. But the cost of the new SPF's of 50-55-70 and even over 100, as the SPF's increase so does the pricing. Higher SPF's normally cost more but are not necessarily worth it.
According to the American Academy of Dermatology, they suggest SPF 30 "because they know your're not going to put enough on."
SPF only measures one type of sun protection. Sunlight consists of about 95% UVA this is what casues skin cancer and wrinkles and 5% UVB which causes sunburn.
So have fun this summer but don't forget the sunblock!
