I am an addict and I know it. I wake up in the morning and look at the weather at NOAA then I fire up Facebook and see who is around. Next I check my MLS for new properties and updated prices. Then I forge onward to check my email and look for orders from my other business, Mary Kay.
Well this morning I had NO INTENET!
I went in to my home office and reset the modem. NOTHING!
I checked all the cable connections. NOTHING!
I ran diagnostics many times and always came up with the same results. NOTHING!
I was ready now (after an hour) to finally admit I could not fix it on my own and called that dreaded number for TECH SUPPORT.
As the phone rang my mind raced,. How long would I be on the phone with someone in some other nation who is pretending to be from the United States so I will feel more comfortable? (I don't really believe you are living in Cleveland you know) Press 2 for residential high speed... ok here it comes..... Are you kidding me? It is a message saying that internet service in my area code is out for everyone and they are working on it.
Well where's my card? I could have saved an hour of frustration by calling right away. Hopefully my office with have the Internet this morning cause that is where I am heading ASAP!
Update ...we have the same service at the office DUH NOTHING THERE EITHER!
I came back home and worked on non computer things. Finally noticed Internet was back up a few minutes ago. Day is so messed up now, I don't know what to do.
What a way to start a day. It takes something like that to make us realize how addicted we are. Hope the rest of your day is full of really nice things.
Been here did it as well. It frustrates your day. I remember the days on no internet. How did we survive?
Yes, I happen to be on that part of the network that goes down if someone hits a cable in Chicago. I have been through two such experiences in the last few years, and now just call when I see the signs.
Paddy - now don't you just hate mornings like that, when your whole plan goes down the drain from the beginning.
Hi Paddy, I went through the same thing on Sunday...thought it was my computer, my router...couldn't get online all day. Found out later it was an area problem with my cable company and now all is well! It was very weird being out of touch all day though!
HAHAHA - i am in tears reading this because I have BEEN THERE! Yep, we are true addicts! Breathe, Paddy!
Paddy when this happens it can be a bit frustrating, Do you have a garden? next time trying weeding it will relax you :)
I do hope your day got better.
Amazing how dependent we are on the internet. I am so "addicted" to the internet that I don't know if there is hope for me. LOL
