Breaking news:

I just received this in an email from NAR!

Several members of the House introduced a bill this morning to extend the tax credit deadline to Sept. 30. Bill is H.R. 5623. NAR is supporting the bill. We're hoping for action today.

I will keep you posted!

H.R 5623 – has been introduced and approved by the House (409-5).to try and extend the home buyer credit.  It now goes to the Senate, where Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., has sponsored a similar measure.  This is only for those people that were already under contract!

This was approved by the Senate on June 30th so now it just needs President Obama to sign it.

Homebuyer Assistance and Improvement Act H.R. 5623 still needs to be signed by President Obama.

I just got a short sale approved yesterday, so we will close in less than a week and we are sure glad this was extended or else the buyer was going to back out leaving another vacant home in Boise, Idaho.
