PieFIRST ANNUAL PIE PARTY!

What a great idea a Pie Party!  Our friends Dee and Melanie Yenovkian and their six young daughters invited us for a Pie Party to their home just outside of Richmond, Virginia - a few hours south of Washington, D.C.  The rules - show up and bring a pie.    Will there be food?  Of course, the amount of savory/salty food that is also "pie" is enormous.

The results:  About Ha
pielf Dinner/Half Dessert

Dinner favorites:

  • Taco Pie
  • Spinach Pie (okay, I brought it but still liked it)
  • Chicken Pot Pie
  • Cottage Pie
  • Sheppard's Pie

Dessert favorites:

  • Pecan Pie
  • Chocolate Pecan Pie
  • Key Lime Pie
  • Oreo Pie
  • Chocolate Silk Pie
  • Cherry Pie

Please note: these were my personal favorites and there wasn't anything "average" there...it was all fantastic.   As it was a super-hot day...they talked about taking out the slip and slide and the lawyers (did I mention that they met in law school) calculated that there were too many adults at the party and therefore it would probably be too dangerous.

At the end of the night when we were all winding down and most people had left 'fat and happy' we spent a few minutes catching up.  We were admiring their kitchen table.  "It is custom made for our family" Melanie said "We based it on a table we liked and I used Pi to calculate the size we needed".   Melanie is an attorney, mother of six, writer, teacher, excellent chef, and generally brilliant.  Thanks for having us!

What a fun idea....maybe invite your clients or collegues to a Pie Party!
