Texas rocks!

I want to go visit Texas. Some of the folks that I like the best on AR hail from Texas. I always wanted to play for the Dallas Cowboys. Padre Island is on my travel list. George Strait is from Texas. Lets face it, the Texas Longhorns are one great football team.

Hey all you Texans, let us know how great your state is.

I'm SO GLAD that NONE of my EXs come from Texas!!! Only CA and VA

Well, we have 6 out of 21 of the strongest metro areas according to the Brookings Institute! Great economy, liveability, recreation, variety, etc! Everyone, come on down!

Texas is surviving the financial storm. San Antonio, Austin, Dallas & Houston are regularly in the top 10 most financially healthy cities in the entire nation. Our unemployment rate is dropping like crazy.

San Antonio is known across the US as Military Town USA, we love our vets. We even have special programs for vets that wipe out all property taxes. Yes, vets with a certain percentage of disability DO NOT PAY ANY PROPERTY TAXES HERE! I love how we take care of our vets. We also have a Texas Vet mortgage program that offers rates close to 4% on a 30 year fixed 100% financed mortgage, only for our Texas vets. Texas is great because we are patriotic and love our country.

We also have great people, Alice, Shirley, Marchel & Tana are all great ladies that work hard every day to make Texas a great place.

Perhaps my favorite part of living in Texas is how respectful folks are. Kids are raised to respect their elders and treat women with respect. It's the cutest thing when a 5 year old boy runs up to open the door for me while his daddy watches to make sure he is growing up the right way. I love our values!

Even with Alex coming toward our coast, folks in TX are thankful it is hitting us and not other gulf states so the oil wont distribute farther toward their coast lines. WE are happy to take the hit to eliminate harm to the coast lines of neighboring states.

Here in Texas, we love our fellow Texans and will do anything to help a neighbor in time of need.

Its all about Real Estate for me... but since Texas has the best REAL ESTATE... then this blog is within my focus..

We moved to Texas 14 years ago and LOVE IT!! We have been weathering the storm. I sure hope there is no moratorium as that will hurt us and Louisiana.

Kevin: When you rattled off your list about all the good things in Texas... you forgot one of the best of the musical acts... the Dixie Chicks. They are awesome. I just loved their concert in England some years ago. <smile>

I really liked the Dixie Chicks for a while, but I'm kinda bummed when bands get political without knowing all the facts. We see this in Hollywood too.

Nick: Yeah, everyone who disagrees with you is a communist. And, they were NOT banned from Texas radio. Love your positive attitude, Nick. Always a bunch of laughs. And... aren't you forgetting this little thingie we have here in America ? It's called Freedom of Speech.

The Chicks are a great group, although I have heard that Natalie Maines has gone out on her own, and the other two... the sisters... have their own "group" now. Have a great week. The CLUCKS are now BROKEN UP. Their SILLY comments are on par with Sir Paul's mention of "library" while in the White House.

And, of course, Wallace... you are probably not very surprised that I agree with both of their comments, and fully support their right to state their beliefs, remembering that we still DO have Freedom of Speech in this country, even though so many so-called "conservatives" want to curtail that Freedom by accusing those whom they do not agree with... of being communists and anti-American or unpatriotic.

That band WAS banned from several radio stations in AUSTIN Texas....and they no longer exist, enough said.... and I agree with Melissa... I dont care to hear ANY sort of opinions from Hollywood stars or any Musicians they have an idea that we care... not sure where they get that from....

Not from Texas, but been there many times and love the place! People who can dislike and insult an entire state are ignorant and should be laughed at and then ignored. : )
