FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKSAND ARTS FEST July 4, 2010Miller Road Park1:30 p.m. to end of fireworks
Friends of the Park invite you to join us in celebrating July 4th at ArtsFest at Miller Road Park. The festival features fine arts, family activities, food and all-day entertainment which celebrates the balance between creativity and nature through music, visual arts and enterainment.
The event will conclude with the annual TrueNorth Chorale and Symphony Patriotic Concert performed against the stunning backdrop of the Lake Erie sunset, synchronized with this year's fireworks.
Setup: Noon - 1:30 p.m.
1:30 - 2 p.m. - Kelly's Gang
2:00 - 3 p.m. - Kim Ceja
3:00 - 4 p.m. - Guy Pernetti
4:00 - 5 p.m. - Diana Chittester
5:00 - 6 p.m. - Bob Sammon

Parking: Visitors are encouraged to park in three main locations: (1) Nautical Bowling Lanes' parking lot on Miller Road; (2) Reliant Energy construction lot; and (3) the power plant's employee lot. The boat ramp parking lot will be open until filled. There will be no parking on Lake Road except for west of Miller Road on the north side. There will be no parking on Miller Road on both sides and Avon Dale will be closed. There will be extra parking at the shopping center. Parking will be provided for vendors. Avon Lake police urge people to cross Lake Road at crosswalks. Traffic will be directed following the fireworks, Handicap parking will be available at the horseshoe-shaped lot by the Peter Miller House with the proper permits. Restrictions: The pier at Miller Road Park will close at 10 p.m. on July 3 to allow for the set-up of the fireworks. It will reopen at 8 a.m. on July 5. The beach will close at 8 p.m. on July 4. The ramp for the boat launch will close at 8:30 p.m. on July 4. It will not reopen until thirty minutes after the fireworks end so that the crew can check for any fireworks that did not go off. Boaters watching the fireworks from the lake will have to respect a 600-foot perimeter around the pier. Police will be maintaining the perimeter and move boaters further out if there is a heavy south wind.
