Foreclosing from owing $800???????????? How insane is that!?!??!?!? I'm on the board of our HOA and I can tell you it's mega expensive to try and foreclose on someone. It's a lot more than $800. Thankfully, everyone here pays their HOA fees. This is just incredible!
Hi Ruth, I know that any creditor can get judgement and foreclose -- interesting that the HOA chose to foreclose on a home that was free and clear. I wonder how many other homes with mortgages they have foreclosed on?
Most creditors don't want to assume mortgage payments after all - this is highway robbery plain and simple.
Jackie, that really IS crazy isn't it!
Mary, You are good at pointing out the "plain and simple"!
What is wrong with people? This is, as Mary said, plain and simply WRONG! My brother owns a property that, while stationed overseas, his renters moved out and didn't inform him. The mortgage went unpaid, unbeknownst to him for several months, and finally, he got a notice from the bank that he was XXX amt. in arrears, pay up now or lose it. He did, after some struggling, and then got a mgmt. company to take care of the property in his absence. He knew his resposibilities and recognized his fault, but you would think that neighbors might say something...nosy Mrs. Kravitz (from Bewitched) may not have been such a bad neighbor to have after all...
